N5ESE's Version of the KD1JV 555 Keyer Kit
This keyer was supplied by Steve Weber, KD1JV in 2002, as a kit for practicing surface mount soldering techniques. The circuit, designed by Wes Hayward, W7ZOI, is based on a design using three 555 Timer chips. The original circuit appears in his book "Solid State Design for the Radio Amateur". By today's standards, it is a very poor keyer, but it does work, and it's definitely a cute little novelty item that demonstrates some clever engineering.
